Vermont Getaway Project

Project spotlight

GHD collaborates with architects and builders all over the country. From California to Utah to Vermont. Here is a project we recently completed in Vermont

Appliances by Sub-Zero | Wolf Cabinetry by CESAR Kitchens

My clients who live on long island enlisted the amazing Design Build company Birdseye Vt. to build their dream getaway home. My collaboration was primarily with the home owner who wanted a modern kosher kitchen that fit into this steel and glass constructed modern home.

Right:

The concept for the kitchen area is meant to meld into the walls like the rest of the rooms. The entire house has a feeling of opening, large volumes of space so keeping the millwork understated was important.

Below: One of the many challenges when designing a kosher kitchen is finding the room for each task while not mixing them together. This kitchen layout was gracious enough to pull this off but it still presents challenges in the symmetry. One lynchpin to modern design is symmetry which can be difficult when considering fixed size appliances and other internal mechanisms.
