THE CHELSEA PROJECT

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project was for the brother of a previous client of mine.  With its relatively low ceilings and small-ish windows I wanted to create a more open feel.  We removed the cheap parquet wood floors and replaced them with a warm white oak.  This white oak is carried into the new window sills in order to create some continuity and more warmness to the room..

THE KITCHEN

KITCHEN

The Kitchen:  We were able to remove a fairly large wall with two return walls in order to open the kitchen to the rest of the space.  The large column is the plumbing stack so I decided to clad it with lacquer panels in an effort to make it less of an intrusive structural element and more of a component of the kitchen itself.  The porcelain countertops that look like statuary marble add some warmth without the fear and up keep of real marble.  Spill all the red wine you want on this top.  Better if you drink it but if you must spill, this is the countertop material for you.

LIVING AREA

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

WARDROBE

The bedroom wardrobe is another Italian product I like to work with.  The previous closets were a series of hinged doors with the largest ugliest hinges I’ve ever seen.  The exposed hinges were so large and so many they were all I could see when I walked into the room.  In replacing them with a series of matte lacquer doors with integrated grip handles(no exposed hardware) I managed to achieve a sleek clean look while providing tons of functionality behind every door.  The owner, a young professional had certain requirements based on his typical business attire so the interior accessories cater to his specific needs.
