UPPER EAST SIDE MANSION

ABOUT THE PROJECT

This project consisted of two kitchens, 5 bathrooms and one large walk in closet.

THE KITCHEN

KITCHEN

The ground floor kitchen is designed primarily for the staff.  for this reason it has a more commercial feel to it.  The Italian made cabinetry is in a bluish grey oak horizontal veneer.  The countertops are in a satin finished stainless steel.  Other than the commercial Refrigerators the appliances are all by Wolf.

GUEST KITCHEN

The guest kitchen is a simple one walled kitchen.  I used the same materials as the large ground floor kitchen.  This space is used by the owners and the guests to prepare simple meals, coffee etc

THE MASTER SUITE

This master suite bathroom is a generous size with all of the fixtures and accessories you would expect from a 5 star hotel.  It is uniquely positioned in the house to accommodate important guests.  I designed a horizontal walnut vanity which becomes the focal point of the bathroom in a sea of beige marble.  It’s difficult to see in the photos but the wall tiles are designed in a random pattern of 6 different size tiles.

WARDROBE

This wardrobe connect to two bathrooms.  One at either end.  I designed it specifically for the homeowner at the time.  I took a basic inventory of their current closets in order to design enough storage all of their wares.  They also had some very specific requests for how to store belts, ties and jewelry.

HIS BATHROOM

Connecting at one end of the long walk in closet is His Bathroom.  Again I used the horizontal walnut veneer for the custom vanity and the beige marble for the floors and walls.

POWDER ROOM

On the ground floor there is a simple powder room for guests.  I used the same walnut veneer for the millwork but I used a more Mid Century modern design this time utilizing flared solid walnut legs and a framed inset construction.  Same concept with the make up table area.

HER BATHROOM

Quite similar to his with custom walnut vanity and beige marble.
